Spring brings new life to our yard and garden beds. We haven’t lived in our current house for a full year yet, so this is our first spring here.
This is the mystery plant that has started to spread it’s leaves. I haven’t decided if it is a good or bad plant/tree.
I was hoping for a fig tree. That would be a good sign. The fig that I smuggled from my grandmother’s house in Alabama died just last year in the same pot in which I planted it in 1998.
I think earlier today I took out a huge patch of arugula, but I can’t be sure. It looked like a weed. Also found some onions growing in there.
What else will sprout?
I’m pouring over my 1997 copy of the Sunset Western Garden Book in an attempt to identify before I rip out anything else.
This could take a while.
